Apollo 17 astronauts sampled a patch of orange soil (left).  It turned out to contain small glass beads that were produced in a fire fountain on the lunar surface (below).  I have analyzed the xenon isotope content of individual beads to understand if they preserve the signature of the lunar interior or if such volcanic activity leads to complete loss of gas.
